IVF Cost in Europe 2026: Cheapest Countries and Full Price Packages

IVF with your own eggs in Europe typically costs around €2,100-€6,700 for the core treatment, depending on the country, clinic and what is included in the package. Among the lower-cost destinations, basic IVF packages can start at approximately €2,100-€3,500 in the Czech Republic, €2,200-€2,500 in Poland, €2,500-€3,000 in North Cyprus and €2,500-€3,500 in Greece. Spain and Portugal are usually more expensive.

But the cheapest advertised IVF price is rarely the most useful number.

A clinic quoting €2,000 may charge separately for medication, ICSI, blastocyst culture, anaesthesia, embryo freezing and a later frozen embryo transfer. Another quoting €3,000 may include most of those services.

For patients, the number that matters is:

“How much will the treatment I am likely to need cost from the first consultation to embryo transfer?”

Medication alone can add approximately €1,000-€3,000, and travel, tests, embryo freezing, storage and additional transfers can push the final bill considerably higher.

There is another reason not to choose by price alone: the cheapest country may not allow the treatment you need. Treatment rules differ considerably for single women, female couples, donor eggs and older patients.

Cheapest IVF in Europe: quick ranking

These figures are useful for comparing broadly similar basic packages, but individual clinics may advertise prices below or above these ranges.

For example, some Latvian clinics advertise IVF starting below €2,000, while a Polish clinic currently lists a starting price below €2,000. Those prices can be genuine, but they should not automatically be compared with a €2,500 or €3,000 package until the included services have been checked.

Cheapest advertised price and cheapest complete treatment are not necessarily the same thing.

What does a basic IVF price usually include?

There is no universal European definition of an “IVF package.”

A relatively comprehensive basic package may include:

Some international packages include ICSI and blastocyst culture as standard. Others do not.

The HFEA makes the same distinction when advising patients about private fertility treatment: clinics set their own prices, and quotations may exclude fertility drugs, embryo freezing and administrative costs.

Before comparing two clinics, therefore, make sure they are quoting you for the same treatment.

• ovarian reserve
• expected ovarian response
• medication dosage
• length of stimulation
• treatment protocol
• medication brand
• where the prescription is filled

This is why two patients having IVF at the same clinic can pay different totals.

A clinic cannot accurately tell every patient that medication will cost exactly €1,000 before a treatment plan exists.

IVF price is useless if you are not eligible for treatment

Before comparing prices, check whether the country allows the treatment you require.

This changes the meaning of “cheapest country.”

For example:

• Single woman: Poland and the Czech Republic may be cheap, but they are not viable IVF destinations.
• Need donor eggs: Turkey is not an option.
• Woman aged 52: eligibility may matter far more than the difference between a €2,500 and €4,000 package.
• Female couple considering ROPA: Spain or Portugal may be far more relevant than the lowest-cost country.

How to Spend Less on IVF Without Simply Choosing the Cheapest Clinic

Compare the same treatment across clinics

Ask every clinic for an itemised quote containing the same services.

Never compare €2,200 “IVF” with a €3,000 “IVF + ICSI + blastocyst culture” package as though they are the same product.

Get a medication estimate early

Medication may add €1,000-€3,000. Ask what dosage range is realistic for your proposed protocol before you calculate your budget.

Ask about a frozen transfer before starting

Find out what happens financially if a fresh embryo transfer cannot take place.

Consider doing monitoring at home

Some clinics allow blood tests and early ultrasound scans to be completed locally, reducing the number of days abroad.

Confirm this before starting stimulation.

Look carefully at add-ons

Do not assume that paying for more procedures automatically increases your chance of a baby.

Ask what evidence supports every optional treatment for your particular situation.

Compare multi-cycle programmes carefully

Multi-cycle or refund programmes can make costs more predictable for eligible patients, but read:

• what event triggers a refund
• what happens to unused embryos

A “100% refund” is only valuable if you qualify and fully understand the conditions.

If your only question is “Where is IVF cheapest in Europe?”, the Czech Republic and Poland are among the lowest-cost established destinations in 2026, with core own-egg IVF starting at roughly €2,100-€2,500. North Cyprus and Greece follow at around €2,500-€3,500 for IVF with their own eggs treatment.

But that is only the beginning of the comparison.

Medication can add €1,000-€3,000. Freezing, storage, PGT-A, later embryo transfers and travel can add thousands more.

And the cheapest country may not legally treat you.

A patient comparing IVF abroad should therefore ask five questions:

• Am I legally eligible for the treatment in this country?
• Is this clinic medically suitable for my situation?
• Exactly what is included in the quoted package?
• What costs could realistically be added during treatment?
• What is my expected total cost?

The cheapest headline price may save money. The best-value treatment is the one where you understand the complete cost before you start.
