Egg Donation in Bulgaria?

Bulgaria is located in the south-eastern Europe with Romania to the north, Serbia and Macedonia to the west, Greece and Turkey to the south and with the Black Sea from the east. It is Europe’s 16th largest country. With time Bulgaria is starting to be a quite popular place to undergo IVF treatments. The success rates are the same as the average in the countries of European Union however the cost is significantly below the average cost. Bulgaria is a member of Schengen Agreement but it did not get fully implemented yet. However if you want to enter from EU countries or EFTA (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway) an official ID card or a passport will be sufficient. The airports in Bulgaria or in Sofia, Varna, Bourgas and Plovdiv. There can be found a lot of last minute flights from Western Europe which are very cheap. If you are lucky you could find a flight from Germany to Bulgaria and back for about 100 euros. There’s also WizzAir which has direct flights from London, Rome, Milan, Barcelona, Valencia, Brussels and Dortmund. Accommodation is not a problem and you can find very low priced places.

Donors of eggs or sperm are anonymous unless you choose a close relative for a donor. You can undergo egg donation treatments until the age of menopause, be a donor to the age of 34 or 38 if you are a close relative of the recipient. Embryo donation is permitted. Sex selection is permitted only to avoid inheritable diseases otherwise it is prohibited. Other prohibited procedures and treatments include: inheritable genetic modification, genetic discrimination, social use of PGD, genetic modifications for other usage than avoiding diseases, somatic genetic enchantment, inheritable genetic modifications.
Costs of IVF with donor eggs in Bulgaria is about 5000-6000 euros.
